When to call us

Signs it is time to book a handyman.

Small jobs accumulate because each one alone feels too minor to call about. Batched into one visit, they stop being a list.

A flat-pack still in its box

Assembly done unhurried and square is the difference between furniture that lasts and furniture that loosens.

The TV is still on the floor

Mounting needs the right fixings for the wall type — plasterboard and block are not the same job.

A door that catches in summer

Timber moves with humidity here. Usually a hinge adjustment, not a replacement.

Curtains or blinds waiting to go up

A twenty-minute job per window that quietly waits months.

Wasted space in alcoves or under stairs

Where made-to-measure storage earns its cost against anything standard-sized.

You just moved in

Changing or rekeying external locks is basic security housekeeping on any resale or rental.

Tall furniture is not anchored

With children in the home this is safety equipment, not an optional extra.

Your list has reached five or six items

The point at which one half-day visit is cheaper than the call-outs you have been avoiding.

What's included

Every visit, to the same written standard.

01
A real tradesman

Carpentry-trained, tooled for the job, and able to solve the surprise behind the wall plug.

02
The list, cleared in one visit

Send the whole list — we sequence it and clear it in a half or full day rather than three call-outs.

03
Proper fixings

TVs, mirrors and shelving mounted into structure with rated fixings — not hope and plasterboard.

04
Doors and locks

Alignment, handles, hinges and lock replacement, including after move-ins.

05
Custom carpentry

Shelving, wardrobes and built-ins measured, made and fitted.

06
Tidy work

Dust sheets down, debris removed, packaging taken away.

07
Fixed visit pricing

Priced by task or by half/full day — agreed before we arrive.

08
Workmanship guarantee

Thirty days, in writing.

Our standard

Handyman & Carpentry, the Xpert Hands way.

Every home accumulates a list — the door that catches, the flat-pack in its box, the TV still on the floor. The list survives because three separate call-outs feel disproportionate. Our answer is one skilled visit that clears all of it.

Handymen at Xpert Hands are carpentry-trained tradesmen. The standard is the same whether it's one picture hook or a wall of built-in shelving.

Every job carries a 30-day workmanship guarantee, in writing. If something isn't right, one call brings us back — no debate, no charge.

In practice that means the guarantee is printed on your invoice with the date, the scope of work and the number to call. No proof-of-purchase hunting, no debate about what was agreed — the document in your hand is the agreement. It's a small piece of paper that changes the relationship: we return because we said we would, in writing, not because you argued well.

How it works

Four steps. No surprises at any of them.

01Send the list

Everything, however small. Photographs help us bring the right materials.

02Fixed price for the visit

By task or by day — you approve it before booking.

03One organised visit

Sequenced sensibly, done properly, cleaned up after.

04Guaranteed

Thirty days on all of it, in writing.

Tell us what you need. Properly.

The more you tell us, the more precise your quote — and the fewer questions we need to ask when we call. Photographs are welcome; so is a one-line summary if that's all you have time for.

Your details go to our booking team and nowhere else. A specialist replies within fifteen minutes during the day, and first thing in the morning if you write overnight. Genuinely urgent? Call — that reaches someone straight away.

  • Fixed quote before any work is booked
  • No call-out charge for quoting
  • 30-day written workmanship guarantee

What happens after you press send: your request lands with our booking team, not a call centre queue. A specialist who actually knows this work reads the details, checks them against your photographs and notes, and prepares a written quote — itemised, fixed, and valid whether you book this week or next month. If anything is unclear they ask before quoting, not after arriving. You'll hear from us by phone or WhatsApp within fifteen minutes during the day. Overnight messages are answered first thing — if it cannot wait, call instead and a specialist picks up. There is no obligation at any point: many clients use the quote to sanity-check another provider's price, and we're comfortable being the benchmark.

Our promise

Senior people on every job — and every commitment in writing.

We won't show you invented star ratings. What we'll show you instead: a fixed quote before work starts, a thirty-day workmanship guarantee you hold in writing, and specialists who put their name on the job. If that standard slips, you have it on paper — not our word for it.

Appointed maintenance partner to Seemleius Mobility — caring for relocated families' homes from day one. A partnership you can verify, not a badge we bought.

Worth knowing

Small jobs, done properly: a short field guide.

Why the list beats the call-out

Handyman economics are driven by the visit, not the task. One trip carries travel, setup and admin whether it fixes one door or eleven items — which is why per-task pricing on single jobs feels expensive and why the batched half-day visit is the format that works hardest for you. Keep a running list on your phone; when it reaches five or six items, book the visit. The discipline turns an annoyance economy into a predictable, occasional line item.

Mounting: structure or nothing

Dubai walls divide into solid block, which holds almost anything with the right plug, and plasterboard partitions, which hold nothing heavy without finding the studs or using rated anchors matched to the load. TVs, mirrors and shelving that 'held fine for a month' before pulling free were mounted into board with the wrong fixings. A tradesman who checks the wall before quoting the mount, and declines jobs the wall can't safely carry, is the one you want on anything heavier than a picture frame.

Flat-pack, honestly

Assembly is judged at the wobble test, not the photo. The difference between furniture that lasts and furniture that loosens is unhurried cam-lock alignment, square assembly before final tightening, and — for wardrobes and bookcases — anchoring to the wall, which in a home with children is safety equipment rather than an optional extra. An experienced assembler also spots the manufacturer's miscounted hardware bag before it becomes a half-built wardrobe overnight.

Doors, humidity and the seasonal catch

Doors that catch in summer and swing free in winter are responding to humidity — timber moves here more than owners expect. The correct fix is usually adjustment at the hinges or a light plane of the binding edge, not replacement. Locks are a separate discipline: after any move-in, changing or rekeying external locks is basic security housekeeping, and sticking mechanisms want graphite or PTFE, never oil, which gums Dubai's dust into a paste.

Custom carpentry: when it beats buying

Made-to-measure earns its cost where standard sizes fail: alcoves, under-stair voids, awkward corners, and anywhere storage should reach the ceiling instead of stopping a metre short. The craft questions are edge finishing, soft-close hardware quality, and internal layout designed around what you actually store. Measured, built and fitted properly, built-ins routinely outlast and outperform the freestanding alternative — and they're one of the few home improvements that survive a decade of daily use looking deliberate.

Before you ask

Straight answers to the usual questions.

These are the questions our booking team hears most, answered the way we'd answer them on the phone. If yours isn't here, the fastest route is WhatsApp — a specialist replies within minutes, and you'll get a straight answer rather than a sales script. Nothing below is small print; everything stated here is what the written quote and the invoice will say too, because a company that answers plainly before the job is far more likely to behave plainly during it.

Is there a minimum job size?
No — but most clients batch their list into a half-day visit, which is where the pricing works hardest for you.
Can you mount a TV on a plasterboard wall?
Yes, safely — into the studs or with rated anchors matched to the bracket and screen weight. We won't mount anything we can't guarantee.
Do you make custom furniture?
We measure, build and fit shelving, wardrobes and storage. For larger fit-out joinery, see our fit-outs service — same team, bigger toolbox.
How is the visit priced?
Small lists by task; longer lists by half or full day. Either way it's fixed and approved before we arrive.
Same-day visits?
Often, yes — especially mornings. Tell us when you need us and we'll confirm the slot.

Offices, retail, F&B, clinics and residential buildings run on different terms: response times you can hold us to, one account manager across every site, and documentation your inspections will ask for.

  • A written SLA with response times by severity
  • One named account manager across all your sites
  • Consolidated monthly invoicing and reporting
